# Do I need to be connected to the internet to run Rhyme Genie?

**Windows and Mac version:**

Rhyme Genie **only** requires you to be connected to the internet **once** during the initial license request.

The validation of the activation code and all other usage of the app do not require an internet connection.

**iOS version:**

The **validation** of your iOS purchase is processed by Apple when you **install** the app. A purchase receipt remains on your device and is accessed without an internet connection.
